Gene Limlaw and “Grace”

Posted by Heather in Endurance, YOUR Horse on February 13th, 2010

Grace is a seven year old Arabian I got two years ago. She was not even halter broke. I found her in Texas and hauled her back to Vermont and started to train her. I got her as a endurance prospect. I did a number of 50 mile rides last year and 70 miles of the Vermont 100. She had a metabolic issue. After that I put her on Platinum Performance, Metabolic support and Platinum’s vitamin E. I continued to compete in 50s through the fall and had no issues. In December I took her to Florida and attempted another 100. She completed with all A’s and was in wonderful condition. I also have cut her feed back as she seems to be maintaining weight condition wonderfully. I contribute this a lot to Platinum Performance. Thanks so much!

Stacy Potter and “Neon”

Posted by Heather in YOUR Horse on February 13th, 2010

This is my wonderful gelding Neon. Neon broke his hip when he was younger and most vets who evaluated him said he should never have been sound enough to be a show horse after his injury. Despite the odds he went on to be an amazing show horse with the only evidence left of his injury being a dropped hip. I showed Neon for the last 11 years and he proved to be an amazing teacher taking me through the ranks of a beginner Novice Youth to showing at the AQHA World Championships and through the first part of showing in the Amateur division. Neon has been fed Platinum Performance products for the majority of his show career as well as now in his retirement. Not only has he allowed me to achieve goals I never though was possible he also was one of the main factors in developing my passion for veterinary medicine. Neon, now 17, is retired retired from showing while I focus on finishing my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree focusing on equine sports medicine and orthopedics. Neon still loves to work and is currently teaching other veterinary students how to ride or just providing a mental break from the class room. During the day he gets to spend time out in the pasture with his pasture-mates and gets brought in for the evening.

Monday, September 14, 2009 MONK wins AERC Champ Ride (9:58Hr. 100miles, BC Aerc, BC FEI, 1st place FW) Lucky numbers? The morning I went to pick him up (the 9th) I was listening to a local radio talk show, while waiting for my broken down truck in Oakland, and they were talking about the ridiculous notion that the 09 09 2009 was some lucky day or numbers or something like that. I thought that it was pretty unusually and although I am a non believer had it in the back of my mind that it was a good sign that MONK would do well. The fat farm was Lindsay’s mom’s house in Napa where MONK spent 3 weeks getting pampered with 3 meals a day, two back to back days of nice riding at Point Reyes. I was supposed to pick MONK up on Sunday on our way home from the airport, but we were in a rental car because my truck broke down in the middle of beautiful downtown Read the rest of this entry »

Kammy Maughan and “Kiddin”

Posted by Heather in YOUR Horse on February 11th, 2010

My horse is a gift dropped straight from Heaven. Streakin Finish better known around the barn as “Kiddin” has taught me love, patience and to BELIEVE. Believe in myself, believe in him and believe together we can accomplish anything we put our minds to. Kiddin and I won our first saddle in 2009 I had waited for 32 years, he waited 19. I couldn’t have been more honored to have accomplished this goal with him. The best thing I can say about Kiddin is, he sets my world right everyday! Thanks for the ride buddy it has been a great one!

Marilyn Kinney and “Clyde”

Posted by Heather in YOUR Horse on February 11th, 2010

Clyde is 23 years old and I have owned him since he was 13. He started patrolling in April 1999. He is my best “Mounted Patrol” horse. He workes the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion every season. He has a tremendous Fan club!! He has had some minor issues in the past but this year 2009 he has started having problems getting up. He lays down every night and sometimes stays down all night. The Vet recommended Platinum Performance CJ. We are trying to avoid injections and go with supplements. Only time will tell. Clyde is the Bay Roan on the right in the picture, my neice is riding him. Myself and my 28 year old TWH are on the left. Cut & Shoot, Texas

Brenda Stone – “Kacey” and “Ace”

Kacey is my 9 yr old QH mare & Ace is her 5 1/2 mo old colt. Ace is a Perlino. He has beautiful blue eyes and we believe he is going to make an awesome stud that will produce color.  As a recommendation from my vet I started Kacey on Platinum Performance when she was bred. I truly believe that a large part of the health & development of both mare & foal have been due to Platinum Performance. Thank you and keep up the good work.

Cathy Rehbock and “Porsche” and “Dakota”

Porsche

Porsche is a big quarter horse mare with a great calm trail disposition. She can babysit a young or novice rider on the trail or take an extreme rider over anything. She is just turning 5 yrs old and has been on thousands of mountainous trail rides. She will also jump over a 2.6 fence and completed a cross country jumping course on her first attempt. I haven’t found anything she doesn’t excel at including cow work and beginning reining. got to love her.

Dakota

Pictured above is “Dakota” and he is a great trail horse. He is reg. breeding stock Paint. He is great on trail because there are no obstacles he can’t do. He will sit and slide down an almost vertical hill, he will climb on rocks, go over bridges, jump over down tree’s or just about anything you might encounter on the trail. We are going to compete at extreme cowboy events however he has never seen an indoor arena or large crowds. wish us luck.

My horse Cabela is my life. She is my everything. Her and I have been through so much together from jumping 3 gates to rolling down a hill to winning pleasure classes. She is accident prone and funny. Everyone loves her. She is my best friend and number one love. I don’t know what I would do without her.
