Katie Smith and “Idlin”

Posted by Heather in YOUR Horse on October 7th, 2010

Idlin is an 11 year old Quarter Horse/Thoroughbred Gelding. A couple years ago, the farrier trimmed him too short and he was sore. After taking x-rays, my veterinarian also determined that he has arthritic changes and a bone chip in his right hind leg from an old injury. My veterinarian recommended that I start feeding him Platinum Performance. This picture is of him and I at a recent mounted shooting competition. When we are not practicing shooting, we also enjoy long trail rides in the desert.

Cindy Bradley and “Bogar Tucker”

Posted by Heather in Endurance, YOUR Horse on October 6th, 2010

This is my Morgan gelding Bogar Tucker. He is a 10 year gelding. We compete in endurance riding. Last year I completed a total of 1510 competitive miles with Bo and his Morgan stablemate Axle to win both national and regional awards with the American Endurance Ride Conference. Bo and I are pictured here in February 2009 at the Eastern Mojave Scenic Endurance Ride in California Idaho. Of course both horses are on Platinum Performance to compete. It keeps them health and fit. We had no pulls in our 2009 schedule. Thanks Platinum!

Samantha Lorette and “Tucker”

Posted by Heather in YOUR Horse on September 15th, 2010

This is my horse Tucker, He’s a 10 year old Morgan/ Quarter horse cross. I got him when he was 7 years old. The only thing you could do with him when i got him was look at him. I trained him myself and after a lot of hard work, bonding, and patients he is now one of the best trail horses I’ve ever rode, he rides english and western and you can even shoot off him :) He was abused when he was younger so when we welcomed him to our family he had a difficult time trusting men, but now he is the first horse to greet anyone girl or boy at the gate. He is more than just another horse, he is my best friend

Cris Osborne and “Lexie”

Posted by Heather in Barrel Racing, YOUR Horse on September 12th, 2010

My name is Cris Osborne and I am owned by a 13 year old grade quarter horse mare named Lexie. I have had her since she was 2 years old. Was suppose to be a horse for my son to ride, just kind of got kicked out into a pasture, rode off and on til she was 10 years old. I got a barrel racing bug, so thought I’d give her a try. So as a kid broke 10 year old and a 40 year old wife, we started for the bottom and took it one day at a time. We started out running 23.00 second barrels. Kept at it, lot of blood sweat and tears 3 years later, I put Lexie on the Platinum Performance CJ.  We have moved up from the bottom of the 4-5D and are now running in the bottom of the 2D. Platinum has helped my mare and I achieve a special goal. My hat is off to this wonderful suppliment. Lexie loves it and expects it in every feed bucket she gets.

Revelation JF is the Proof of the Pudding

Revelation JF is the Proof of the Pudding

Tagged as one of the most successful show horses in history, English Pleasure multi-national champion Revelation JF could be described as the “proof of the pudding” for the Vicki Humphrey Training Center and Platinum Performance.

World-renowned Arabian horse trainer, Vicki Humphrey, trains and shows the 14-year-old, half-Arabian gelding, owned by Ken and Diane Hicks. With 18 national championship titles in the past 10 years, Humphrey and Revelation have proven to be a fierce team. Revelation has consistently dominated the competition with national championships in the English Pleasure 14-17 division, 18-39 division and Open division as well. Hicks’ daughter, Loren Shields rode him to all of his amateur wins. According to Humphrey, Revelation’s greatest accomplishment was in 2009 when he defeated the reigning national champion at the U.S. Nationals in the Open English Pleasure in a Five-Horse Workout. That year, he was also named USEF Horse of the Year.

Proving to be an exceptionally victorious year for the duo, Humphrey and Revelation received many prestigious awards in 2009, with a list too long to mention. Awards included Arabian Horse Times Reader’s Choice Award for Horsewoman of the year and Half-Arabian Horse of the year, respectively. Not settling for retirement Read the rest of this entry »

Jana Turner and “Dinero”

Posted by Heather in Barrel Racing, YOUR Horse on September 10th, 2010

I started my pro rodeo gelding, VC DiggersHunkeyTonk on Platinum Performance after my vet, Dr. Brent Hague recommended it to me about a year ago. I knew that if it was something he recommended- it was worth it. Since starting Dinero on Platinum, he has placed at numerous PRCA Rodeos and big 4D races this year and he is running as tough as he ever has. I know the reason he feels good and looks good is because of the Platinum Performance! After one visit to Dr. Hague’s- he asked me what I had done to Dinero?!? He said he looks like a million bucks- better than he ever has. I had to tell him I started him on Platinum like he had recommended! I’ve also started my 3 year old futurity gelding on it too! Dinero has struggled with allergies for the past several years and we recently started him on the Allergy formula. I trust we will have the same great results with it also! Thanks Platinum for keeping Dinero running and winning!

Platinum works like a “Breeze” for an Accidental Mare and her Owner

Platinum works like a “Breeze” for an Accidental Mare and her Owner

Platinum Performance client Mary Schwartz transforms an unexpected mare and realizes a lifelong dream.

Today, the mare she calls “Breeze,” is a long way away from her less-than-ideal condition a year ago. Schwartz came across, the now 6-year old Hanoverian/Thoroughbred mare, Nice Assets, in May of 2009 when she worked for sand colic at a veterinary clinic. “She was green-broke and came with a slew of bad habits, including rearing and flipping over backwards, Schwartz says. “She was about 800 pounds at the time, severely underweight for her size at 16 hands, and very sick.” Since a yearling, she had been at a training facility and the trainer said that he simply wanted rid of her.

Schwartz explains that something about the mare just called to her. Three weeks later, the trainer brought Breeze back to the clinic for her pre-purchase exam. “She passed with flying colors, even earning a comment from my usually stoic boss about her beautiful movement.” Jokingly, Schwartz says, “however, I’d be remiss if I didn’t say that the intern at the time, and my close friend, thought I was crazy for buying such a horribly ratty-looking mare.”

After deciding to take a chance on the mare, Schwartz knew she had her work cut out for her in getting her back in condition. She immediately started Breeze on Platinum. Within three months, she had Breeze up by 200 pounds, not her ideal weight, but very close. “There was a noticeable difference in her appearance,” Schwartz says. “Her coat was getting slicker and she was becoming much more bright-eyed and happy. I definitely contribute that to Platinum.”

Schwartz notes that her job as a Vet’s Assistant/Vet Tech at an Equine hospital is where she was introduced to Platinum. “The owner used Platinum on all of his horses. The clinic also sold it, so I got a chance to meet with plenty of clients who used it and see many before and after horses. I was sold on it immediately,” Schwartz says.

It was a year after acquiring Breeze when Schwartz realized just how much the mare had transformed when she earned her Breed Certificate. Schwartz had been training and preparing Breeze for her breed inspection with the American Warmblood Society, to simply improve her yearling scores. “I was completely blown away when we walked away with the highest scoring horse at the entire inspection, out of mares, geldings, stallions and young stock,” Schwartz says. Only one Breed Certificate is given away per inspection, with only 20 per year, nationwide. “Breeze has absolutely been a dream horse for me in every way,” Schwartz says.” Her training has taught me so much more about horses, and it proves that any horse can surprise everyone.”

Declaring that she’s always wanted to do something with horses, Schwartz is now turning her passion into a new business venture with her mom as partner. Together, they are working on a start-up Holsteiner breeding operation in Read the rest of this entry »

Sarah Gatwood and “JD”

Posted by Heather in YOUR Horse on August 2nd, 2010

Doctor Beetle Frost aka “JD” is a one of a kind. He has blessed our lives in so many ways. He is an 11 year old AQHA gelding. JD has a personality that, in our barn, is unmatched! Five years ago if you would have asked me if he was a kids horse I would have said “Definitely not!” Now almost a year, of riding him my stepdaughter has won over $7000 on him in the barrel racing world. He was a blessing in disguise for her. Last year we learned that JD had problems with his stifles and hocks. After injections, my vet recommended that we start him on Platinum Ortho-Chon HA II. It worked! He hasn’t had to be injected in over 6 months and is doing excellent, as teh records show! He is a rodeo horse and loves what he does. I plan to do what it takes to keep him there, not only for her but for him. He’s part of the family! Check him out at www.tracequarterhorses.com
