Revelation JF is the Proof of the Pudding

Tagged as one of the most successful show horses in history, English Pleasure multi-national champion Revelation JF could be described as the “proof of the pudding” for the Vicki Humphrey Training Center and Platinum Performance.

World-renowned Arabian horse trainer, Vicki Humphrey, trains and shows the 14-year-old, half-Arabian gelding, owned by Ken and Diane Hicks. With 18 national championship titles in the past 10 years, Humphrey and Revelation have proven to be a fierce team. Revelation has consistently dominated the competition with national championships in the English Pleasure 14-17 division, 18-39 division and Open division as well. Hicks’ daughter, Loren Shields rode him to all of his amateur wins. According to Humphrey, Revelation’s greatest accomplishment was in 2009 when he defeated the reigning national champion at the U.S. Nationals in the Open English Pleasure in a Five-Horse Workout. That year, he was also named USEF Horse of the Year.

Proving to be an exceptionally victorious year for the duo, Humphrey and Revelation received many prestigious awards in 2009, with a list too long to mention. Awards included Arabian Horse Times Reader’s Choice Award for Horsewoman of the year and Half-Arabian Horse of the year, respectively. Not settling for retirement (more…)

Jana Turner and “Dinero”

Friday, September 10th, 2010

I started my pro rodeo gelding, VC DiggersHunkeyTonk on Platinum Performance after my vet, Dr. Brent Hague recommended it to me about a year ago. I knew that if it was something he recommended- it was worth it. Since starting Dinero on Platinum, he has placed at numerous PRCA Rodeos and big 4D races this year and he is running as tough as he ever has. I know the reason he feels good and looks good is because of the Platinum Performance! After one visit to Dr. Hague’s- he asked me what I had done to Dinero?!? He said he looks like a million bucks- better than he ever has. I had to tell him I started him on Platinum like he had recommended! I’ve also started my 3 year old futurity gelding on it too! Dinero has struggled with allergies for the past several years and we recently started him on the Allergy formula. I trust we will have the same great results with it also! Thanks Platinum for keeping Dinero running and winning!

On the Road with Megan McLeod

Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

Idaho native, Megan McLeod, is making her presence known in the world of barrel racing. The 27-year-old Platinum Performance client declares that healthy horses are one of the most important aspects to success in her sport. With residences in Idaho, Arizona and Texas, and many shows in between, McLeod and her horses spend a lot of time on the road, which is why their health and soundness is her top priority.

We caught up with McLeod, on the road, at the National Barrel Horse Association Professional’s Choice Las Vegas Super Show. She turned in a successful weekend, with two finalists in the 1D barrel race. Consisting of over 700 entries on Saturday, McLeod garnered third place in the 1D on her 13-year-old barrel horse, “Uh-oh.” An astounding accomplishment for Uh-Oh, McLeod points out he’s recently been upgraded from “the back-up” to her “go-to-guy.” Uh-Oh also placed in the 1D in the Friday race of 670 entries. Even her 15-year-old, semi-retired horse, ‘Petey,” rose to the occasion to place seventh in Saturday’s 1D.

Running barrels since she was old enough to ride a horse, McLeod declares, “I always craved the speed.” Today, she mainly competes in the Women’s Pro Rodeo Association. She’s qualified for several tour finales and many major short rounds. (more…)

Hardin Wins $20,000 Grand Prix on Platinum’s Pedro

Santa Ynez Valley, California, March 24, 2010—Platinum Performance (http://www.platinumperformance.com) team member, Kristin Hardin wins $20,000 Scottsdale Spring Festival Grand Prix riding Platinum’s Pedro on Saturday, March 20, 2010.

Hardin claimed victory in the premiere class of the Arizona show, a 1.4 meter jumper class, on her aptly-named 19-year-old gelding Platinum’s Pedro. Although she is no stranger to winning, the accomplished hunter/jumper trainer and competitor doesn’t take it for granted.

“It’s very rewarding to win. I feel very happy for my horse that he gets the accolades he deserves. It’s a great feeling to have him do that well at his age,” said Hardin.

Hardin purchased “Pedro” nine years ago as a horse with the classic underdog story. He had literally been around the world and didn’t have the best reputation. She changed his feeding program, and then his name to Platinum’s Pedro, just knowing that she could make a star out of him. And, that she did; he has proved himself with a nearly perfect show record and lifetime earnings of almost $75,000. (more…)

Gene Limlaw and “Grace”

Saturday, February 13th, 2010

Grace is a seven year old Arabian I got two years ago. She was not even halter broke. I found her in Texas and hauled her back to Vermont and started to train her. I got her as a endurance prospect. I did a number of 50 mile rides last year and 70 miles of the Vermont 100. She had a metabolic issue. After that I put her on Platinum Performance, Metabolic support and Platinum’s vitamin E. I continued to compete in 50s through the fall and had no issues. In December I took her to Florida and attempted another 100. She completed with all A’s and was in wonderful condition. I also have cut her feed back as she seems to be maintaining weight condition wonderfully. I contribute this a lot to Platinum Performance. Thanks so much!

Monday, September 14, 2009 MONK wins AERC Champ Ride (9:58Hr. 100miles, BC Aerc, BC FEI, 1st place FW) Lucky numbers? The morning I went to pick him up (the 9th) I was listening to a local radio talk show, while waiting for my broken down truck in Oakland, and they were talking about the ridiculous notion that the 09 09 2009 was some lucky day or numbers or something like that. I thought that it was pretty unusually and although I am a non believer had it in the back of my mind that it was a good sign that MONK would do well. The fat farm was Lindsay’s mom’s house in Napa where MONK spent 3 weeks getting pampered with 3 meals a day, two back to back days of nice riding at Point Reyes. I was supposed to pick MONK up on Sunday on our way home from the airport, but we were in a rental car because my truck broke down in the middle of beautiful downtown (more…)

Brenda Stone – “Kacey” and “Ace”

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

Kacey is my 9 yr old QH mare & Ace is her 5 1/2 mo old colt. Ace is a Perlino. He has beautiful blue eyes and we believe he is going to make an awesome stud that will produce color.  As a recommendation from my vet I started Kacey on Platinum Performance when she was bred. I truly believe that a large part of the health & development of both mare & foal have been due to Platinum Performance. Thank you and keep up the good work.

Cathy Rehbock and “Porsche” and “Dakota”

Porsche

Porsche is a big quarter horse mare with a great calm trail disposition. She can babysit a young or novice rider on the trail or take an extreme rider over anything. She is just turning 5 yrs old and has been on thousands of mountainous trail rides. She will also jump over a 2.6 fence and completed a cross country jumping course on her first attempt. I haven’t found anything she doesn’t excel at including cow work and beginning reining. got to love her.

Dakota

Pictured above is “Dakota” and he is a great trail horse. He is reg. breeding stock Paint. He is great on trail because there are no obstacles he can’t do. He will sit and slide down an almost vertical hill, he will climb on rocks, go over bridges, jump over down tree’s or just about anything you might encounter on the trail. We are going to compete at extreme cowboy events however he has never seen an indoor arena or large crowds. wish us luck.

Cabela

My horse Cabela is my life. She is my everything. Her and I have been through so much together from jumping 3 gates to rolling down a hill to winning pleasure classes. She is accident prone and funny. Everyone loves her. She is my best friend and number one love. I don’t know what I would do without her.
