Remington

I rescued Remington in 2004. He was a big beautiful TB that while had very nice gaits had many problems associated with him, he had a severe problem with cribbing, (he would not even stop with the miracle collar) he developed such huge face muscles in the front of his ears when you put the collar on to tight it would just slip back behind his ears. He also has ulcers and a bad history of colicing (according to his previous owners, I didnt know this until I researched his previous owners). On the morning of November 2008 I went out to Remingtons stall and noticed he had been rolling in his stall, he had bascially a hole in the middle of his stall and the shavings were all built up agaisnt the sides..The prognosis wasnt good, Remington had severe peritonitis and was in a lot of pain, we decided to put him on iv’s and pray for the best. The next day when we went to see him, the poor guy looked so depressed and in pain it broke me and my daughters heart, his head was all the way to the ground but he was standing. When my daughter and I went to pet him he had a little glimmer of hope and slowly scooted around the stall folowing us for comfort. That again broke my heart but showed some promise and he was searching for us to comfort him. After about a week of iv’s and a huge vet bill, we took Remi home. while he wasnt out of the woods yet, he was sent home with antibiotics to help with his infection. Well we had ANOTHER set back, Remi has a severe allergic reaction to the antibiotics treating his infection and got SEVERE diarrhea, he would not eat, he wouldnt drink and I was again praying he had enought strength to pull throuh yet another setback. I decided to let Remington out of the stall, eat some grass and prayed he would get better, he wasnt drinking ANYTHING, so I was hoping the moist grass would get him enough water and nutirents as he had to be taken completely off the antibiotics. THAT WORKED!!! Mt vet recommended I put him on Platinum Performance and a special feed that would be easy on his stomach and help him gain his strength and weight back, (he lost so much weight he looked like a rescue horse). I am proud to say I have my Remi back 100%, thanks to Platinum Perfomnace and the strength of what I always thought was a very “sensitive” thoroughbred proved to be a very strong guy with a big heart. I want to thank you for providing such a wonderful supplement that was able to help Remi not only gain his weight back, but has kept him balanced and fit.. I have not had any colic problems since (knock ing on wood as I write this) and am enjoying my beautiful TB again. He had such a trying ordeal, and I will never call him a sensitive , weak guy again…
