Kippy is a father/daughter project born at our home 8 years ago. We wanted to breed our lovely built and minded mare with a Register of Merit from the Quarter Horse Assoication with a nice paint horse stud. My husband and daughter spent many hours pouring over the adds and photos of various studs and finally settled on an internet romance with a black and white paint out of Colorado. With our black mare we were hoping for a black and white paint colt with his mother’s disposition and build. He was born with all the atributes we hoped for, but the blue eyes in a black face were a surprise as neither parent had blue eyes. I have been riding Kippy since he was two and couldn’t ask for a better mount! Last year he was injured in a friend’s trailer. He fractured the outer splint bone in his right rear leg, had an incomplete hair line fracture of his cannon bone, a severe contusion on the front of the cannon bone, and a skin tear that required a number of stitches. Our Vet recommended we put him on Platinum Performance while he recovered. Thanks to two great vets and Platinum Performance, one month later there was no sign of the hairline fracture or contusion. Four months later we were back on the trail with only minimal visible scars and never a lame step! Thanks Dr’s Garza and Honnis, thanks Platinum Performance!
