Zappa, “Smokin Black Norfleet” is just two years old in this photo. I do Natural Horsemanship Parelli style and have been studing it now for 4 years. Two years into it I decided I wanted to start my own horse from day one naturally with out all the bad human garbage that are in so many that we purchase. “My Horse Hootie”

My horse is a purebred arabian gelding named CA Ultimo+//(aka “Hootie”). I show him in Hunter Pleasure and he is one of the winningest Hunter horses in the country. Hootie has won 17 National Championships and numerous top ten’s. We started him on Platinum Performance in 2002 right before going to U.S. Nationals in Louisville, Kentucky. Carla and “Iva Lotta Class”

I bought “Iva Lotta Class” aka Jordan in 2003 as a 6 year old. Denise Taylor, the previous owner, trained him. She told me to take him slow and progress at a comfortable time table. It took a year to figure everything out, but when it came together it was great. We were having so much success early and I couldn’t wait to buy my permit for the WPRA. Then one afternoon he was playing with another horse over the barbed wire fence and got his foot caught. It was horrible. We rushed him to vet and found out the wire cut into his coffin joint. The vet said it would take a miracle for this horse to even live nevertheless, be 100% sound. (more…)

Who’s in The Winners Circle?

The Winner’s Circle Scholarship Program is designed to encourage and support veterinary students intending to enter equine veterinary medicine by providing financial aid to students in their 4th year of veterinary school.  These scholarships benefit deserving students through partnership between the AAEP Foundation, Platinum Performance, and The Race For Education.
